The Ministry of Public Works clarified on Tuesday that formal approvals are needed before any individual or entity can publish advertisements or awareness notices on the sea wall between Georgetown and Ogle.
In a public notice published on Facebook, the ministry said formal approvals must be granted by the Sea and River Defence Board. Requirements stipulated must also be complied with.
An application for approval should be submitted to the Chairman of the Board; the application should provide sufficient information on the reasons for publishing the notice, a description of the content, and an indication of how long the notice will be displayed.
The notice also stated, “All individuals and entities having existing notices and advertisements on the sea defences are required to contact with the Sea and River Defence Board at the address indicated below so that the necessary payment arrangements for rental of the seawalls can be established.”
