The Association of Chinese Enterprises in Guyana (ACEG) in Guyana continues to strengthen bonds with the local community through their annual Christmas care package distribution, this year taking the initiative to the Palms Geriatric Home.
This year, the Association, in collaboration with the ‘20th CHINA Medical Team’ for Guyana and its dedicated members, delivered 155 essential and hygiene items to residents of the Palms on Brickdam, Georgetown. Their goal: to give back to a community that has warmly welcomed them.
“This initiative comes from the heart. It’s not just about the festive season but ensuring the residents feel remembered and cared for,” said Lucinda Tracey, a representative of ACEG.
The Association worked closely with The Palms’ administration to ensure the packages catered to the specific needs of the elderly. Their efforts have fostered strong relationships, with The Palms knowing they can always reach out for support – and not just during the festive season.
Looking ahead, the Association plans to expand this initiative outside of central Georgetown, with a call for local businesses and volunteers to join hands in making future events even more impactful.
For ACEG, this annual event is not just about spreading Christmas joy—it’s about connecting with the community and giving back in meaningful ways.
