Mark Forde, a Police Constable, has been placed under ‘close arrest’ at the La Grange Police Station following a incident that occurred on the evening of September 30.
The incident, which was captured on video, shows Forde assaulting his 17-year-old son.
According to initial enquiries, the confrontation began when Forde accused his son of neglecting his household chores.
An argument escalated, leading to the father reportedly striking his son, resulting in injuries to the teenager’s face and body.
In a bid to escape the situation, the young man fled to his uncle, Joseph Grant, an Inspector of Police.
Grant then accompanied his nephew to the Parfaite Harmonie Police Station, where a formal complaint was lodged.
The teenager subsequently received medical attention for his injuries.
As investigations into the incident continue, Forde remains in custody under close arrest.
