Thandi McAllister, a former member of the People’s National Congress Reform’s Central Committee, called on scores of Region Three residents to rally behind President Dr. Irfaan Ali and elect him for a second term in office.
McAllister spoke at a community engagement event in Canal No. 2, West Bank Demerara, with President Ali on Sunday. In brief remarks, she expressed much confidence in the President’s leadership and backed him for a second term in office.
“I joined forces with my brother and friend, Irfaan, because I believe in his vision, a vision which he personally outlined to me.
“I want to encourage you to stay the course with my friend and brother. You have seen firsthand the development from 2020 to today; imagine what he will do with another term,” McAllister said.
Guyana’s next General and Regional Elections are scheduled for later this year. Dr. Ali of the People’s Progressive Party Civic (PPP/C) is seeking a second term in office.
McAllister, an attorney, said the upcoming elections will “determine the future of the country,” even as she said much has unfolded since President Ali was elected in 2020.
So she joined many others who called for citizens to support Dr. Ali.
