In a move aimed at strengthening regional representation in the nation’s top football competition, the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has assigned Golden Jaguars Interim Head Coach Wayne Dover to support Mainstay Goldstar FC during their first-ever GFF Elite League campaign.

The decision follows a formal request from Essequibo Coast/Pomeroon Football Association (EVPFA) President, Mr. Marvin Pearson, after Mainstay Goldstar faced early setbacks in their opening three matches.

As the first club from the Essequibo Coast to compete at this level, Mainstay Goldstar’s entry into the Elite League marks a significant milestone for football in the region.

Coach Dover, one of Guyana’s most respected football minds, has committed to working directly with the team’s players and coaching staff.

His involvement is expected to bring immediate technical benefits and help the club build momentum as the season progresses.

“This initiative highlights the GFF’s continued efforts to foster growth and competitiveness across all regions, ensuring that promising teams like Mainstay Goldstar FC are equipped to thrive on the national stage,” Mainstay Goldstar FC said.
