Fourteen wickets fell on the opening day of the sixth round game of the West Indies Four-Day Championship between points leaders Guyana Harpy Eagles and Leeward Islands Hurricanes on Wednesday.
Hurricanes, responding to Harpy Eagles 193, closed on 143-4, still 50 runs adrift from first innings points at Warner Park, St. Kitts.
Keacy Carty is not out on 20 and Jahmar Hamilton on three. Opener Mikyle Louis made 73, Kadeem Henry 22, Karima Gore one and Jewel Andrew 16.
Bowling for Harpy Eagles, Keemo Paul has picked up 2-43, with one each for Nial Smith and Ronaldo Alimohamed.
Harpy Eagles slipped to 86-5 by lunch and eventually made 193 all out with the in-form Kevlon Anderson hitting an unbeaten 77 off 96 balls, his second fifty this season to go with two hundreds.
After Raymond Perez (10), Matthew Nandu (10), Tevin Imlach (5), Kemol Savory (4) and Kevin Sinclair (13) all fell cheaply, Keemo Paul with 31 and Alimohamed with 30 played the supporting role to Anderson.
