Elite League: Ruthless Slingerz hammer Mainstay 17-0

Slingerz FC delivered a dominant performance, defeating Mainstay Goldstar FC 17-0 at the National Training Centre on Friday.

This was one of the largest margins of victory in the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) Elite League’s history.

Slingerz FC established their dominance early, with defender Romain Brackenridge scoring in the fourth minute. Lloyd Matthews and Jamal Pereira added goals in the 8th and 10th minutes.

Roshan Ritch increased the lead in the 18th minute, followed by Darron Niles in the 27th. Kemar Beckford scored four goals within 13 minutes (29’, 37’, 39’, 42’), giving Slingerz FC a 9-0 lead at halftime.

Slingerz FC continued their offensive onslaught in the second half, with Niles completing a hat-trick (63’, 68’). Bryon Wharton (64’) and Marcus Tudor (65’, 71’, 84’) also scored, and Kelsey Benjamin added two late goals (87’, 89’) to complete the dominant victory.

Afterward, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) and Santos drew 1-1 in their match as Kevin Layne scored for GPF in the 40th minute, while Carl Griffith equalized for Santos in the 67th minute.

The Elite League continues on March 30, with Fruta Conquerors facing Ann’s Grove from 18:30h and Monedderlust playing against defending champions Guyana Defence Force at 21:00h.
