A fire supposedly caused by illegal electrical wiring Tuesday destroyed the home of 47-year-old Premchand Singh of Lot 2 Public Road Plantation Foulis, West Coast Berbice.
The Guyana Fire Service in a statement said four firefighters responded to the fire at 11:48 hrs to extinguish the fire. The blaze severely damaged another unfinished concrete structure owned by Singh.
The Guyana Fire Service is urging citizens to desist from using illegal electricity connections as it can cause a fire, electrocution and the loss of life and property.
