Guyana Harpy Eagles had to endure a second no-result in this year’s CG United Super50 when they took on Jamaica Scorpions on Thursday at the Queen’s Park Oval in Trinidad.
Persistent rainfall, which led to a saturated outfield, had the final say with Scorpions having batted 41.3 of the allotted 50 overs.
When the rain came, Scorpions were 162-6 with Jermaine Blackwood unbeaten on 63 off 91 balls.
Opener John Campbell made 53 off 65, but the Harpy Eagles bowlers kept things tight.
Left-arm spinner Ashmead Nedd, bowling the new ball, took 2-23 off 10 overs, while there was one each for Veerasammy Permaul, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Keemo Paul and Kevlon Anderson.
Harpy Eagles, after five games this season, have one victory, two defeats and two no-results.
In the other game, Amir Jangoo stroked an unbeaten 70 to lead defending champions Trinidad and Tobago Red Force to a nine-wicket win over West Indies Academy, who made 135.
CG United Super50 matches continue on Friday with Leeward Islands Hurricanes taking on Windward Islands Volcanoes from 09:00h, and Combined Campuses and Colleges opposing Barbados Pride from 13:00h.
