Rodrigues, also known as ‘Kelly,’ was discovered lying in a pool of blood at approximately 7:15 hrs between West Ruimveldt Front Road and Mandela Avenue.

According to a 25-year-old construction worker from West Ruimveldt, he was bathing in his backyard when he heard two loud explosions, which sounded like gunshots.

He looked over his fence and saw a man lying motionless on the road.

The worker ran outside and found Rodrigues surrounded by a small crowd, clad in a green jersey, blue shorts, black slippers, and a black surgical mask.

A preliminary examination of the body revealed a small circular wound on Rodrigues’ forehead. No spent shell casings were found at the scene.

The body has been taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.
