The Guyana Amateur Powerlifting Federation (GAPLF) will host its Raw National Championships at the Guyana Defence Force Gymnasium this Sunday.
The event marks a significant milestone as the competition will be held at the military facility for the first time.
The GAPLF has expressed gratitude to the Guyana Defence Force for their support in hosting the event.
The competition will feature some of Guyana’s top powerlifters, including Carlos Petterson Griffith, Bjorn Williams, Kheon Evans, Dimetri Chan, and Vijai Rahim.

Long-time supporter Fitness Express has renewed its sponsorship of the event. Company manager Jamie McDonald emphasised the company’s commitment to powerlifting and its athletes. The overall male and female best lifters will be rewarded with hampers.
Action is set to begin at 9:30h, with fans expecting a thrilling display of strength from the competitors.
Also in attendance will be Guyana-born powerlifter Dominic Tyrell, who recently competed at the Senior World Championships.
