Montra Jaguars, Mahdia (Movements Family), Titans All-Stars and Diamond Gunners are through to the semi-finals of the second Kares One Guyana T10 Tapeball Blast following pulsating quarter-final action at the Enmore Community Centre ground on Sunday (August 11).
Watched by a colourful, vibrant and packed crowd at the East Coast Demerara venue, the Super Eight games produced three one-sided affairs and one closely fought encounter in perfect conditions for cricket.
In game one, Montra Jaguars continued their fairytale run in the tournament by topping Team Corruption by seven wickets, followed by Mahdia crushing Tarmac Titans by nine wickets.
In a clash of two heavyweights, Titans All-Stars thumped The Guards by 63 runs, while Diamond Gunners edged Brooklyn Youth Strikers by two runs in a thrilling finish.
There were several outstanding individual performances, none more telling than Dorian Grenion of Diamond Gunners defending nine runs off the last over against Brooklyn Youth Strikers to give his side a nail-biting two-run win in fading light.
Dejourn Charles of Team Corruption struck 58 not out, the day’s highest individual score, Anthony Bramble blasted six sixes in 50 off 20 balls for Montra Jaguars, while Ricardo Adams (43*), Shemroy Barrington (41) and Kevon Boodie (40) were also among the runs.
Raydon Austin of Mahdia picked up a hat-trick on his way to figures of 3-18, with Grenion the only other bowler to take a three-wicket haul on the day.
Dorian Grenion produced arguably the performance of the day, defending nine runs in the last over for Diamond Gunners against Brooklyn Youth Strikers

Huge payout
Each of the four quarter-final winners pocketed G$100,000, while each losing side got G$30,000, for a total payout of G$520,000, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport.
The semi-finals will take place on August 24 at the National Stadium, Providence, with Montra Jaguars against Mahdia (Movements Family) from 15:00h and Diamond Gunners against Titans All-Stars from 17:00h.
The Cricket For Charity match, led by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, will be from 19:00h, followed by the grand final at 20:30h.
The losing semi-finalists will take home G$250,000, compliments of Premier Insurance, while the runner-up will receive G$500,000 from SuperBet Guyana, and the winner G$1.5M from Star Rentals.

On the individual side, there will be prizes for Most Runs, Most Wickets and Player of the Final. Each winner will receive a Smart TV and a G$75,000 cash prize, compliments of Regal Stationery and Computer Centre.
Assuria Insurance will present a motorbike, and $85,000 will go to the Most Valuable Player.
Additionally, $100,000 will be split equally between the Kawasaki Super Striker of the tournament (player with the highest strike rate- minimum of 12 balls) and the Most Economical bowler (lowest economy rate- minimum of 24 balls).
Over G$3.4M in cash prizes is at stake.
