Close to 85 boys and girls are proud graduates of the recently concluded Malteenoes Sports Club cricket camp. Former national cricketer and now businessman Steven Jacobs encouraged the players not to stop working and continue to set high standards.
Jacobs, who is also vice President of the club, said he was truly impressed with the natural ability of many young pupils and further stated that they should now transition into the structured club system.
Jacob’s business partner and decorated national captain, Leon Johnson, also motivated the youngsters to keep having fun while they improve and reminded them that he started at an academy on his nature in his younger years.

With a history of over three decades, the Malteenoes Cricket Academy has been a breeding ground for cricketing talent.
The club’s motto, “Our Youth, Our Future,” underscores its commitment to nurturing young players.
The camp boastsed an impressive lineup of mentors, including former Guyana and West Indies cricketers, as well as the recently crowned U-19 Women’s T20 champions.
Their presence inspired the young players and provided invaluable guidance.
The young cricketers will be exposed to various aspects of the game, including batting, bowling, fielding, and fitness.
