U.S. Government to launch youth workforce readiness project

On Wednesday, July 31, Adrienne Galanek, Deputy Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, Minister of Labour, Joseph Hamilton, and the Male Empowerment Network (MEN) will launch the Ignite Project to equip youths with the skills needed for Guyana’s future workforce.

The project is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Youth Resilience, Inclusion, and Empowerment (Y-RIE) program.

Ignite supports youth development and community-building by combining workforce readiness, well-being support, and educational opportunities with support from public and private sector partners for youth ages 18 to 25 in Sophia, Werk-En-Rust, Albouystown, and New Amsterdam.
