Two arrested after CANU ranks find ‘Sour Deisel’ during G/Town searches

Officers from the Customs Anti Narcotic Unit (CANU) arrested two men following the discovery of marijuana in two separate searches.

The ranks conducted an operation in the Greater Georgetown area on Friday where they intercepted a motor car. A subsequent search of the motor car revealed a large Ziploc bag containing a quantity of cannabis.

Two persons were arrested and escorted to CANU’s Headquarters along with the narcotic, which tested positive for cannabis and weighed one kilogram.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, CANU Officers conducted a follow-up operation in the Greater Georgetown area and searched an abandoned house which led to the discovery of a black plastic bag containing a quantity of cannabis that weighed 916 grams and a .38 revolver.

The cannabis that was seized is known as “Sour Deisel” which is a foreign cannabis that has a current street value of $700,000 per kilogram.
